Congratulations to the Communications and Public Relations team: this year's recipient of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce Sterling Award for Marketing.
We have five main responsibilities:
- To highlight achievements of VIU faculty, staff, and students.
- To produce University promotional materials.
- To market VIU’s programs and services.
- To enhance internal communication.
- To manage the Vancouver Island University website.
Our services include:
Advertising for programs, services, and faculty and staff recruitment
Consultancy for marketing, public relations, crisis/issue/risk management, and other projects
Layout and Graphic Design for brochures and other promotional materials
Freedom of Information/Protection of Privacy to comply with the legislation and respond to formal requests for personal and general information, and records
E-VIU our online, key internal publication
Marketing to develop and implement marketing plans—"getting the best bang for our bucks"
Media Liaison official responses to the media (newspaper, radio and television), news releases, feature articles, news conferences, etc.
News & Promotional Photography for news stories and promotional materials
Publications View Book, Mini-View Book, Program Guides, brochures, posters, flyers in print and electronic formats
Website Design & Services design and management of the Vancouver Island University website, site planning, web page design, and application development
Writing, Editing, Design to tailor your message to your audience
Other guest lectures on news release writing, media relations, and the Freedom of Information/Protection of Privacy Act
