About the Museum of Natural History

The Museum of Natural History has been at the current facility since the summer of 1976.

The museum provides services in the areas of:

• Supporting collections-based research for students and faculty.
• Providing for collections-based teaching (we provide materials for over 10 different courses in over 4 different departments).
• Sending and receiving specimens on loan and in exchange for research.
• Replying to external inquiries about specimen holdings for research and consulting.
• Providing a research resource for local and regional researchers.
• Providing independent study opportunities for students.
• Supporting community outreach programs with students of all ages.
